Out with dues! In with participation!

No to dues! Yes to being active!


Mandatory participation may sound harsh, but really- what good does an 'inactivist' do for animals? We have people join S.M.A.R.T. who never write, respond to email, post on the board, or attend any events. Why join? Good intentions are wonderful, but the animals NEED you to be active- even if it can't be with us! :)

For this reason, members are asked to participate in one event every three months. With as many events as we have, choosing one hour-long event in 90 days should be easy!

- If someone absolutely cannot attend events, we ask that they at least log in and contribute something online. Post a petition, announce a letter writing campaign, share your thoughts- we'd love to hear from you! If you'd like to do something more, consider leafleting outside of your local veal-serving Italian restaurant, then let us know how it went. Whatever you choose to do is great- just do something on behalf of animals.

Anyone who doesn't visit the site for 6 months or more will receive a personal request to log in and get active. If the request goes ignored, they'll be removed sometime later. Those who sign up and disappear immediately (meaning the only time they visited the group was the day they joined) will be removed after 3 months.
